The Roost Retreat
The Roost Retreat is a cosy, quiet and rustic holiday annexe, located in Leeming Bar on the Gateway to the beautiful Yorkshire Dales. Our characteristic little hideaway is an eco-conversion of a former Orangery and has been beautifully restored, retaining the original beam with high ceiling, creating away-from-the-ordinary self-catering accommodation. The property also benefits from its own separate kitchenette, private outside patio area with a barbeque (fire pit on request). There is ample off-road private, level and secure parking alongside the accommodation, a large enclosed front garden and complimentary Wi-Fi.
The Roost Retreat sleeps up to two guests, perfect for couples and solo lady travellers who are looking for safe and secure accommodation. Business guests and solo contractors are also welcome, there is a work space for a laptop and Smart TV with streaming channels (Prime, Netflix, IPlayer, YouTube).
We are dog friendly, up to two small/medium dogs are accepted. Motorcyclists, cyclists and classic car owners also very welcome. The Roost Retreat is less than a minute walk from the Wensleydale Heritage Railway and the Wensleydale Polar Express. The property and its location are very convenient for a member of the event crew to stay for the duration of the Polar Express event. Our accommodation is self-contained and guests have the whole place to themselves! Weekends, short and long breaks are available all year round.

The Roost Retreat is situated in the village of Leeming Bar, just off the A684 between Bedale and Northallerton. It is located on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales, also known as Herriot Country where the 1970’s TV programme “All Creatures Great and Small” was filmed. Our location is perfect for visiting the many diverse range of attractions, gardens, historic houses, walking and cycling North Yorkshire has to offer. We are surrounded by several lovely market towns with a diverse range of independent shops and businesses within a short drive including Bedale, Northallerton, Masham, Leyburn, Richmond and the beautiful cathedral city of Ripon.
