STAY DURATION

Single-night stays only accepted Sunday to Thursday.

DOGS:  *We welcome up to two small or one medium-sized dog.  We regret we do not accept very large dogs as there is insufficient space to comfortably and safely accommodate them.  Dogs must be well-behaved, fully house-trained and over six months old. Dog bed, water bowl, towels, snuggle blanket, dog waste bags and treats are provided.

*Dog fee £20 per stay (whether one or two dogs and unlimited nights).  Please ensure that we are informed that you are bringing a dog(s) and that the £20 surcharge is added to your reservation. We reserve the right to charge this fee if this is not added to your booking.

MAXIMUM NUMBERS: Please note that only the number of persons specified in the reservation confirmation (maximum two guests) may stay in The Roost Retreat.  We are sorry our accommodation is unsuitable for toddlers and young children (under 5 years).  One baby in a travel cot can be accommodated.

WENSLEYDALE POLAR EXPRESS TRAIN RIDE: Minimum two-nights.  We can only accept a maximum two guests in The Roost; we do not have the capacity or provide extra beds.  We only have one bed in The Roost which is king-size therefore suitable for one parent and one child (over 5 years).

CONTRACTORS & BUSINESS GUESTS:  We offer very competitive rates for contractors/business guests looking for convenient and quiet accommodation for a longer period of time. Please contact us directly where we can discuss your individual budget and specific requirements.

ACCESSIBILITY:  We regret we cannot accommodate wheelchairs and mobility scooters.

BOOKING

Information

Reservations can be made online, by telephone or by emailing us.  Payment methods are by credit or debit card, via Stripe Payments or BACS transfer by arrangement. Cash is accepted but this must be made on arrival with the full amount of your stay.  

It is always better to book directly with us for the best prices.  Bookings made through Online Travel Agencies cost more, as we have to offset large commissions charged to us. 

DEPOSIT & CANCELLATION

DEPOSIT POLICY

We do not charge a deposit on reservation but please refer to our cancellation policy.

CANCELLATION POLICY

Changes and cancellations to bookings made up to 7 days prior to arrival are without charge. Full cost of the reservation will be taken 7 days before your arrival date. Bookings cancelled within the 7 days before your arrival date are non-refundable. If we are able to resell any cancelled nights in this period, then we will refund you any nights resold or alternatively we can issue an accommodation voucher to use against a future stay.

ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE

Times

Arrival: From 3 pm to 8 pm (15:00 to 20:00)  We like to welcome our guests in person where we can and introduce you to The Roost Retreat.  Please let us know an estimated time of arrival so we can open the gates for you. If arriving after 8 pm, then self-check in is available. If arriving later than 8 pm, please let us know so we can leave the key in the lockbox and give you the combination code.

Departure: Up to 10 am.

Occasions

If you are looking to celebrate a special occasion or a landmark birthday, we can arrange for flowers and/or local handmade artisan chocolates as a surprise for a loved one.  These can be ordered as a separate option on the Additional Extra section on reservation.  There is no need for you to do anything, just choose the gift(s) you would like to order and we will organise everything for you! If you would rather speak to us about specific requirements, then please call us or drop us an email. 

OTHER

Information

No parties or events. 

Strictly no smoking or vaping anywhere inside The Roost Retreat. This is only permitted outside where there is an ashtray.

Quiet hours between 10.00 pm and 8.00 am. The Roost Retreat is located in a quiet residential area, please respect our surrounding neighbours and ourselves. 

No commercial photography.

WE ARE DOG

Friendly

Dogs are welcome at The Roost Retreat, up to two small or one medium furry family member. We have a fully enclosed garden for your dog to exercise and have a run around. We also provide a dog basket (or you are welcome to bring your own), towels, snuggle blankets, water bowl and some little treats on arrival!
